Last evening I was back at Tele2 Arena to cover the match between Djurgårdens IF and Kalmar FF. I had a choice between covering Djurgården’s match or AIK’s away match against Brommapojkarna. I ended up going with the Djurgården match, but maybe I did not make the best choice as AIK’s match at Grimsta seemed like it was probably more entertaining.
Coming off a big 5-0 loss to Häcken you would expect Djurgården to show up with a really strong performance, but never really turned up. Kalmar easily outplayed them for most of the 90 minutes. Rasmus Elm looked great for Kalmar and dominated the midfield.
Then of course you had the curse of the ex-player, which was in full effect last evening. Former-Djurgården man Erton Fejzullahu was behind both of Kalmar’s goals. Guess he couldn’t pass the opportunity to show them up after DIF passed on signing him back when he returned from his stint playing in China. I remember when he first joined Djurgården and scored a hat trick in his first match. Shame he ran off to play in China and his career fizzled out.
