I started the month by going down to Malmö in order to cover Pope Francis’ visit to Sweden and now I continued the month by covering a visit from another Francis.
Francis Ford Coppola came to Stockholm in order to receive a lifetime achievement award at the Stockholm Film Festival. He started his visit by participating in a press conference. He then went on to make an appearance at the Stockholm Film Festival where he participated in a question and answer session with fans and was awarded his lifetime achievement award.
It was a great pleasure for me to get to see Francis and hear him speak. He is a person who left an indelible mark on both in Hollywood and on cinema as a whole. I read the Godfather at a young age and which then introduced me to the movies. It is one of those rare occasions when the film is as good and even better than book. From there I believe I went on to see just about all the movies that Francis Ford Coppola made, everything from The Conversation to New York Stories.
He has certainly had a marvelous career and without question a career that merits being acknowledged and celebrated.
