Last week I posted some videos with new features in the Photoshop CC 2018 update. I felt this was worth highlighting on it’s own though. You can now do color & luminance masking in Camera Raw, which also means you can do it in Lightroom as it uses the exact same Adobe Camera RAW engine that Photoshop uses.
Check out the video bellow because it explains it better than I ever could with words.
I’m really looking forward to playing with these new masking tools. I work in Camera RAW from Photoshop regularly. It’s by far the Adobe application I use the most and these new tools seem like they are going to become indispensable. Giving you so much more refined control on your masks with so little effort.
I love to pick on Adobe over all of the things I hate, but Adobe adding these kind of features is what keeps my from giving a good look at competing applications.
Also I have to mention that Julieanne Kost’s Blog, which is where the video comes from, is definitely worth subscribing to.
