The winners of the 2016 World Press Photo contest were announced earlier this week. As always it’s filled with incredibly inspiring work that is worth examining and admiring. Spanish website Quesabesde analyzed the EXIF data found in the winning photographs and created this graphic showing the most popular cameras in World Press Photo.
Canon won out over Nikon with 28 of the 45 winning photos being shot on Canon cameras. In general DSLR dominated mirrorless cameras which accounted for one winning photo.
No smartphones?
One thought that popped into my head while looking at this graphic is the lack of any smartphones among the winners. I wonder how much longer away we are from the point we start seeing smartphone cameras infiltrate this contest. A year? Two years?
Thanks for stoping by.
