The summer time normally brings with it a string of Europa League qualification games to Stockholm. Often you either have a mediocre opponent that get’s blown away or on occasion you get a proper opponent that easily blows the Swedish team away.
Yesterday was the first of the two scenarios. AIK meet KÍ Klaksvík at Friends Arena. KÍ Klaksvík is a team from the Faroe Islands. Apparently they are one the stronger teams in the Faroe Islands as they have won their league 17 teams and have an impressive 6 cups to their name. At the same time you have to consider they play in an area with a capacity of 530 people.
KÍ Klaksvík was no match for AIK. So much so that AIK players could not even be bothered to celebrate as the goals poured in. With this crushing 5-0 victory AIK goes on to the next round of Europa League qualification and hopefully we get a more interesting opponent.
